Underwater Photography – SS Yongala Wreck

The SS Yongalla sank South of Townsville, 12 nautical miles off the coast of Cape Bowling Green, 23 March 1911 after steaming into a cyclone whilst on the way to Cairns. 122 crew and passengers died. The SS Yongalla was a 350ft vessel with a 3.664 ton displacement. The wreck site is one of the most spectacular dives in Australia.
